Standard Wauzer History
The Standard Wauzer is a fairly new breed of dog developed in the Netherlands. The Standard Wauzer is a medium sized, short coated, square head, medium sized, round bellied, short-legged, high set, long backed, tailless, hound-like scenthound. The Standard Wauzer has been recognized by the FCI/CKC since 2007. The FCI/CKC is the organization that recognizes all purebred dogs. The FCI/CKC is the organization that recognizes all purebred dogs. The origin of the name “Wauzer” is uncertain, but the word is thought to come from the Dutch term “Vazelaar”. Some sources claim that the name “Standard” was added to the name for the standard that breeders have to use when breeding the dogs.

The Standard Wauzer is a small, medium-size, long-haired, breed that is typically between 15 and 17 inches tall at the withers and between 25 and 30 lbs. They have a slightly longer neck that the body, wide muzzle, and oval, dark eyes. Their tail is carried low. Their fur is straight and silky.

The Standard Wauzer is an energetic, playful, and athletic dog. They are highly intelligent and love to learn new things. They are loyal to their owner and make good guard dogs. They are protective of their home and family, and can be very suspicious of strangers. They have a strong prey drive, and may chase small furry animals and rodents.
Standard Wauzer Activity Requirements
The Standard Wauzer is a medium-sized, short-coated dog that is known for its intelligence and affection. This breed is smart and eager to learn and can be trained to do just about anything. While they are not high-energy, the Standard Wauzer does need to have regular activity. At a minimum, the Standard Wauzer should get a daily walk, but they will enjoy playing and going on adventures. The Standard Wauzer is a sensitive, independent dog that enjoys spending time with their family. They can be a bit wary of strangers, so it is recommended to socialize them from a young age. A confident, well-behaved dog is a pleasure to be around.
