Taco Terrier History

The Taco Terrier is a recent hybrid, or designer, dog breed that was developed by crossing the Bedlington terrier with the miniature Chihuahua. The Taco Terrier is a cross between the Chihuahua and the Bedlington terrier. The Taco is a short haired, small, compact, sturdy, alert, and nimble little dog. The breeder(s) of the Taco Terrier are as yet unknown. The Taco is a new and rare cross-breed, created in 2007. The breeders of the breed are currently unknown, although one breeder, Cathleen Neikirk, has mentioned breeding the Chihuahua with a golden doodle. The Taco is a fairly new addition to the toy group, and is relatively rare.

Taco Terrier Physical Characteristics

The Taco Terrier is a small, medium sized, compact, short-legged, long-bodied, and broad-chested multi-purpose terrier breed that typically stands between 12 and 16 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between 12 and 32 pounds. They have a thick, soft, double coat of a brindle or grizzle color with lighter underparts and a narrow white stripe on the throat. They have a dark mask around the muzzle and dark eyes. The tail is curled over the back. The head is conical in shape with a short, blunt muzzle. They have small, erect triangular ears. The nose is black. The jaws are strong with a perfect scissor bite. They are energetic, courageous, energetic, and curious.
