Wel-Chon History

The Wel-Chon, or “well-bred”, is a toy-sized American breed of domesticated canine. The Wel-Chon is a designer or hybrid puppy resulting from breeding a Pekingese with a Welsh Corgi. The South Korean company, Dong-A, developed this cross in 2001, naming it the “Welchon”, combining the terms “welsh” and “mongrel2”, even though neither parent of the cross was, in fact, of welsh origin.

Wel-Chon Activity Requirements

The Welsh Corgi is a herding dog that originated in the United Kingdom. Although they are small, they are packed with energy and like to be on the move. A daily walk or short play session is the best way to keep your Welsh Corgi happy. If you are looking for a Welsh Corgi, be prepared to meet your dog’s physical and social needs. They thrive on interaction and prefer to be with their people. A home with a fenced yard is ideal, so they can run around and burn off some of that energy.
