American Bull Dane History
The American BullDane, or AmStaff, is an American-bred hybrid (or “designer”) of 2 or more purebred bull breeds, including the Bulldog and the Staffordshire Terrier. The Amstaff was bred by crossing the American Staffordshire with the English Bulldog to produce a more ferocious looking, but more controllable, version of the pit-bull. The Amstaff is a descendant of the American Pit Bull Terrier, which was at one time a fighting dog in the pits. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, often pit bulls were crossed with bulldogs or terriers for strength, but with fewer tendencies toward aggression.

American Bull Dane Activity Requirements
American Bull Dogs were bred to be companions and workers. They are often used as assistance dogs and police dogs. They are intelligent, strong, and loyal. While they are not as high strung as some other breeds, American Bull Dogs still enjoy a long walk or a game of fetch. As long as they get an opportunity to run around, the American Bully should be fine in smaller spaces. While they are high-energy, they are also intelligent and strong. They generally love to be with their family, and they are great with kids. Be aware that they need an outlet for their energy, so be sure you can give them enough exercise and attention.
