American Bullhuahua History

The American Bullhuahua, also called the American Bulldog, is a mixed-breed, medium-sized, muscular, athletic, and “bully-type” dog. The bull type refers to the stocky build, flattened face, and broad head shape. The “Bull” prefix was added to distinguish this “type” of bully from the “boxer” and “pit” types. The origin of the American Bullhuahua is unknown, but similar-looking dogs used in bullbaiting matches have been noted in the 1500s and 1600s. The “bull” type name has been used in English-speaking countries since the 1800s.

American Bullhhuahuas are a fairly new hybrid dog that is a combination of the American Pit Bull Terrier and the Chinese Chongqing Dog. They were developed to be companion dogs and are marketed as being family friendly. The American Bullhhuahua is not a high-energy dog, but they do require regular exercise. They are best for owners who live in an apartment or who have a smaller backyard. They do best with frequent walks and indoor play.
