American Pit Bull Terrier Temperament and Behaviour

The American Pit Bull Terrier is a dog bred for utility and function, not appearance. The breed is known for its determination, strength, and loyalty. Pit Bulls are intelligent and eager to please, making them excellent candidates for obedience training. They are also playful and good with children. However, their powerful jaws and muscular build can make them a formidable opponent if not properly socialized and trained.

American Pit Bull Terrier Activity Requirements

American Pit Bull Terriers were bred for hunting and fighting, and they require a great deal of physical and mental exercise. If they are not given enough to do, they can be destructive and unhappy. The American Pit Bull Terrier loves to be challenged, and they need lots of toys and puzzles to keep their minds engaged. Without proper stimulation and exercise, they can become bored and frustrated. American Pit Bull Terriers do very well with regular exercise. They will need at least one good long walk each day, and they love to play and run. They are fairly high-energy dogs, and they do best in homes with lots of space.
