Doxie-Pit Temperament and Behaviour

The Dachshund mix is a sweet, playful and outgoing dog. They have a lot of energy and stamina and are happiest when they can spend time outdoors with their owners. They are curious and like to explore their surroundings, but they can also be cuddly and gentle.

Doxie-Pit Activity Requirements

Dachshunds are small, short-legged dogs that were originally bred for hunting. They are highly intelligent, loyal, and fearless. Dachshunds are very adaptable and do well in apartment or country living. While they don’t require much running or jumping, Dachshunds do require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. They are generally good with families, but they have a lot of energy. A daily walk or playing games like fetch is a great way to keep them busy and entertained. While they are well-suited for apartment or city living, they do need regular exercise. A fenced yard where they can do their business is ideal. If you live in a smaller home or aren’t able to take them out for long walks, consider adopting a smaller dog who doesn’t need as much space.
