The German Pointeraner is a medium-sized bird hunting breed that generally falls between 18 and 22 inches at the withers and weighing between 30 and 45 pounds. They have a thick, double-layered medium-length coat, which is either liver, blue, or brindle in color. They have a square head, a pointed muzzle, and almond-shaped eyes that are dark in color, set low on the head, and distinguished in appearance. They have strong jaws and a muscular neck and body and the tail is usually docked. The German Pointeraner has a keen nose and keen eyesight, and is highly intelligent, affectionate, and loyal.
