German Wirehaired Sprointer History
The German Wirehaired Pointer or shorthaired pointer (Deutsche Wölberwirehaired Pointer) is a medium-sized breed of gundog in the pointing-dog family. It is also known as the Shorthair Pointer, the German Longhaired Pointer and the Thuringian. It is one of four varieties of the Weimaraner, the other three being the long-haired variety, the long-hair/medium-haired mixed-breed variant, and the smooth-haired or “rough” variety.
