Jatzu History

The Jatzu is a medium-size, muscular, short-coated, and long-eared hybrid dog breed that was developed by crossing the Siberian Husky and the Alaskan Malamute. The Jatzu first appeared in 1995, when it was created by crossing a purebred Siberian Husky male named Storm with a purebred Alaskan Malamute female named Fire. The first litter of puppies was registered with the UKC in 1997. The Jatzu is a fairly new, or “designer”, breed of dog that was created by breeding the huskies and malamutes in the mid to late 1990s.

The Jatzu is a high-energy, muscular dog that originated in Germany. They are known as a herding and guarding dog, and hunters also used them as scent hounds. The Jatzu is an active, intelligent, and loyal companion. They are best suited to an active family who can provide them with plenty of exercise and stimulating activities. They are strong-willed and sometimes stubborn, so training and socialization early on is important. The Jatzu will need at least two hours of physical exercise every day. They’ll also enjoy activities like duck hunting, agility, and obedience.
