Due to their large size and strength, they require a great deal of exercise and attention. These dogs are known to suffer from separation anxiety and may become destructive if left alone for too long. These dogs are generally well suited to homes with yards or acreage where they can roam freely. They can do well in homes with families that can provide them with plenty of attention and affection.
