Portuguese Podengo Temperament and Behaviour

The Portuguese Podengo is a highly intelligent, independent, and agile breed of hunting dog. They are considered to be one of the most ancient breeds of hunting dogs in the world. They are full of energy, but are also calm, quiet, and sensitive. They are playful, but not overly-affectionate with their owners. They are highly trainable and excel at obedience and agility trials. The breed’s smooth, short, dense coat is easy to groom.

Portuguese Podengo Activity Requirements

Portuguese Podengo Pequeno are a small, very active dog that likes to play. They are currently a very popular new breed of dog, and while they are not right for everyone, they are good candidates for small, active families. A daily walk or run is a good way to burn off some energy. Be sure to leave your Portuguese Podengo with plenty of toys to keep them entertained. They have a tendency to chew, so keep an eye on their toys. If you are looking for a small, high-energy dog, the Portuguese Podengo may be right for you. They are smart, quick to learn, and fairly obedient.
