Rashon

Dog Breed Profile

Rashon History

The Rashon is a toy-sized, short-haired, and wire-haired terrier named after the Basque town Rianxo, in the province of Gipuzkoa, in northern Spain. The Rashon is a lively, sociable, and mischievous little dog. It is highly intelligent and, if well-socialized at an early age, gets along well with other dogs and children. It is curious and inquisitive, but not aggressive. It has a long, hard, wiry coat that needs to be brushed regularly. The adult coat is black with rust-red and/or white markings on the muzzle, cheeks, and chest. Puppies are born with a black, soft, woolly coat, which sheds a lot. The adult hair grows in after several months. Like most other terriers, the Rashon is tireless and thrives on human companionship.
