Schneagle History
The Schneagle is an American hybrid dog breed that was created in the mid-1990s by mixing a Shih Tzu with a Beagle. The Schneagle is another designer mix, or “designer hybrid”, like the Labradoodle and Goldendoodle. The first recorded mention of the Schneagle was in 1996. The only known Schneagle litter was a pair of white and brown puppies born in 1996.
Schneagle Physical Characteristics
The Schnauzer is a medium-sized, long-haired breed of dog that originated in Germany. The breed standard describes the typical Schnauzer as “a compact, sturdy, well balanced animal of graceful appearance, endowed with great endurance and ruggedness, and showing no tendency towards coarseness.” They are muscular and agile, with a powerful, well-muscled body and a sturdy, wedge-shaped head. Their ears are erect and triangular, their facial features are straight and their noses are of black or dark brown. Their coats can be wiry, soft, or a combination of the two; the undercoat is thick and soft. The Schnauzer has a double coat, consisting of an outer, coarser, weather-resistant and longer guard hair, and undercoat, which is shorter, softer, finer and denser.

Schneagle Temperament and Behaviour
The Schneagle is a cheerful, friendly and devoted breed that adores people. They are smart and outgoing, and generally love being around others. They are eager to learn and get along well with children, but can sometimes be a bit rough when playing with kids. They can be somewhat stubborn at times, but are easy to train and are eager to please.
Schneagle Activity Requirements
Schneagles are a fairly new mixed-breed dog, created through the mating of a purebred Cocker Spaniel with a purebred Standard Poodle. They are known for being intelligent, friendly, and playful. Most Schneagles are very high-energy and will need plenty of exercise and playtime. They will enjoy walks, games of fetch, and chasing a ball. Just be sure not to overdo the exercise. A Schneagle will benefit from spending time outside and should have access to a yard where they can run around. They also benefit from having another dog to play with. If you are looking for a good playmate for your Schneagle, consider adding another dog to your household.
