Smooth Scottish Fox Terrier History

The Smooth Scottish Fox Terrier is a breed of small terrier, originating in Scotland. The Scottie is a version of the rough-coated variety of the Highland Small-Terrier, which existed prior to the 1800. The Smooth Scottish Terrier was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1974. The Standard for the Breed, which requires that a dog be 13 inches (33 cm) in height for males and 12.5 inches (32.5 cm) for females, states that a “Spatio-Temporal Lobe” should be present in the skull. The Scottie is intelligent, affectionate, and clownish. The Scottie has a weatherproof double coat. It comes in four colors: black, red, wheat, and brindle (a variation of brindle).

Smooth Scottish Fox Terrier Temperament and Behaviour

The Smooth Scottish Fox Terrier is a playful, alert, and fearless breed of dog that is full of energy. They are highly trainable, and excel in many types of activities, such as rally, tracking, and agility. They are friendly and get along well with children, but can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs.

Smooth Scottish Fox Terrier Activity Requirements

The Soft Scottish Terrier is a small, sweet dog that makes a great pet for families and individuals with older children. They are typically happy, friendly, and fun-loving, and they love to play. While they are not very high energy, they do require regular exercise. A daily walk or game will keep them healthy and happy. Because they require less exercise than some other breeds, they also do well in smaller homes or apartments. If you are considering a Scottish Terrier, be sure you are prepared to give them the exercise and attention they need. They need regular interaction with people, and they aren’t a good choice for families with small children or frail older adults.
