Springer Spaniel Sheepdog History

The Springer Spaniel Sheepdog is a hybrid, or designer, breed of animal that was developed by crossing the English Springer Spaniel with a Border Collie. The Springer Spaniel Sheepdog is a cross between the English Springer Spaniel and the Border Collie. The hybrid was created by combining selective breeding of the English and Australian Shepherd stock with the working lines of the Border Collie.

Springer Spaniel Sheepdog Physical Characteristics

The Springer Spaniel is a medium-sized, compact, long-legged bird hunting breed that is typically between 23 and 27 inches at the withers and 45 to 60 pounds. They have a muscular, wedge shaped body and long, feathered legs. The Springer Spaniel’s short, glossy, flat coat is white with chestnut markings. Their large, erect ears hang down over their eyes and they have a wedge-shaped head with a moderate stop. The eyes of the Springer Spaniel are dark brown and they have a square muzzle and a straight, strong nose. They are a good, trusting and affectionate family companion.
