Victorian Bulldog History

The Victorian Bulldog is a British Thoroughbred type bulldog. The Victorian Bulldog is a medium-sized, square-proportioned, muscular, short-coated bull terrier. The head is in proportion to the body. The eyes are almond-shaped and pigmented. The ears are medium-sized, erect, and hanging. The teeth are strong and well aligned. The tail is docked. The coat is short, smooth, hard and glossy. The colour is brindle, fawn, red, black and tan. The Victorian Bulldog is descended from the original English Bulldogs, which were developed in the 1800s. The development of the breed was influenced by the Pug, which was very popular in England at the time. The Whitbread family of brewers, who owned the largest brewery in London, were instrumental in the development of the modern English Bull Terrier.
